The Terms We Work Under

Plain terms covering quotes, exclusions, liability and your consumer guarantees.

Quotes

Quotes are provided after a physical inspection of the vehicle and are valid for 30 days. A quote is based on the condition of the paint at the time of inspection. If the vehicle arrives in materially different condition — additional damage, a respray we were not told about, or contamination requiring substantially more decontamination — we will stop, tell you, and give you a revised price before continuing. We do not do additional chargeable work without your agreement.

Bookings and cancellations

Coating work is scheduled around cure times, so a booking holds a workspace for one to three days. We ask for reasonable notice if you need to reschedule. Where a deposit has been taken and you cancel at short notice, we may retain an amount reflecting the work already done and the time reserved. If we have to reschedule, we will tell you as soon as we know.

What the work includes and excludes

The written quote sets out exactly what is included: the number of paint correction stages, the panels covered, the coating system and number of layers, and any wheel, glass or interior work. Anything not listed is excluded. In particular, unless expressly quoted, we do not carry out:

  • Panel beating, dent removal, rust repair or respraying.
  • Touch-up of chips through to primer, although we will identify them and recommend repair.
  • Window tinting or glass replacement.
  • Mechanical work of any kind.

What a coating does not do

You should book with a clear understanding of the product's limits, and we will restate them here because they are the most common source of disappointment in this industry. A ceramic coating does not prevent stone chips, scratches from objects such as trolleys, keys or branches, or hail damage. Paint protection film resists stone chips but does not make a panel impact-proof. Neither product removes the need to wash the vehicle. Detailed explanations are on the ceramic coating page and the paint protection film page.

Maintenance and durability

Coating durability depends on how the vehicle is stored and washed. Where we give a durability expectation, it assumes maintenance washing with pH-neutral products and no use of automatic brush car washes. We provide maintenance guidance on collection. Damage or premature degradation caused by abrasive washing, harsh chemicals, automated brush washes or neglect is not a product fault.

Payment

Payment is due on collection unless other terms are agreed in writing. The vehicle remains available for collection once payment has been made.

Liability and your consumer rights

Our goods and services come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure and to compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. You are also entitled to have services remedied if they are not carried out with due care and skill.

Nothing in these terms limits those rights. Beyond them, our liability is limited to resupplying the service or the cost of resupply. We are not liable for pre-existing defects, for damage arising from vehicle condition we were not told about, or for consequential loss such as loss of use.

Vehicles left with us

Vehicles are left at the owner's risk in respect of personal property. Please remove valuables before drop-off. We ask that vehicles are collected promptly once we notify you the work is complete.

Privacy

Information you give us is handled under our privacy policy. Questions about any of these terms can go through the contact page, or read more about how we operate on the about page.
